guy and eva jewelry giveawayLife in the retail lane
Guy and Eva started its life as a retail brand with our collection being sold in boutiques and various fashion specialty stores. The name Guy and Eva rapidly became synonymous with high quality and affordable prices, which resulted in numerous fashion magazine features and celebrity spottings.

However, over the years, a constant flow of inquiries from people everywhere interested in personally selling Guy and Eva jewelry is what embarked us on this new journey. Fall Festival: The Slanket Review and Giveaway!

{CLOSED}

fallfestival

Today's Fall Festival Event on Snafood:
Guy and Eva Jewelry set giveaway!
Don't forget to enter my Guy and Eva giveaway too!

The Slanket giveaway
Have you heard of The Slanket? Unless you've been living under a rock (if you have been living under a rock, I apologize!), you probably have heard of it. Many of my friends have The Slanket, and I hate to admit it, but I was quite jealous. The wonderful people at The Slanket sent me a pretty Ruby Slanket to review on my blog...I am one happy girl. I immediately ripped open the box, squealed loudly, "My Slanket, my Slanket...it's here!!". My husband and daughter looked at me like I had lost my mind. Well, guess who is enjoying it now besides me? Not only are my husband and daughter stealing at every opportunity, my three cats have taken quite a liking to it as well. Hmmmph.

The Slanket Review and giveaway
The Slanket is a almost like a large bathrobe...a favorite bathrobe. It is wonderfully soft and snuggly, and covers the entire body...even way past the toes. It wraps and envelops - it is heavenly. If you haven't seen them yet, head over to The Slanket and take a look around. The color section is wonderful...I think I want one of every color (especially since my family has taken over mine!). The Slanket is available in a wide variety of colors too!  All of the colors are gorgeous, and there is a color for everyone. I have a suggestion - ladies - if you are getting one for yourself, buy one for your spouse and kids too, otherwise you will probably never see your Slanket again. Men - I offer the same suggestion to you. The good news is that there are Slankets for Kids! I like that...now maybe my daughter will stop trying to crawl into mine. Now they just need to come out with a Slanket for Pets, and I think I will be all set!

You can read what The Slanket owners have to say here. I give The Slanket a really big thumbs up!

The Slanket company even donates a percentage of all sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the NRDC! So head over to The Slanket, and order one (or five!). Not only are these perfect for you and your family, they make wonderful presents.

The Giveaway IS NOW CLOSED!:

Fall Festival: WE TAKE THE CAKE Review and Giveaway!

{CLOSED}

fallfestival

Today's Fall Festival feature at Snafood:
Brown Bow Gift Co. Review and giveaway and
Curried Butternut Squash & Apple Soup!

Also on The Speedy Gourmet today: Pumpkin Bar Recipe!

Today's featured company is:
We Take the Cake!

We Take the Cake Giveaway

Where do I begin with this review?  There literally are not enough words to tell you how much I enjoyed these cupcakes.  From the moment I opened the box and saw the gorgeous works of art until I finally got up the courage to eat one (I don't mean this in a bad way - they are just so beautiful I hated to dive into them!), I was so impressed.  The detail in each cupcake is amazing. I have to admit that I was a little depressed as I ate the last one.  I looked forward to these each day.

These are not your average cupcakes - these are oversized! The cupcake assortment I received to review contained Chocolate, Red Velvet and Golden Butter.  Need I say more?  Okay well if that isn't enough to make you fall in love,  how about this - each cupcake has cream cheese frosting, and on top of each was a  buttercream frosting in the shape of a flower.  Oh my!

A little about We Take the Cake and it's owner, Lori Karmel (lucky lady!):
Back in 1997, We Take The Cake began as a modest mail-order bakery. This was before I even knew they existed! Well, a few years later, I happened to visit this bakery to buy a cake for my son Sean's third birthday. The rest, as they say, is history...it was definitely love at first bite, and I ended up buying the business!

Since then, I've updated the look and feel of the company to reflect our team's fun, whimsical personality. We've also added custom designs. But there's one thing that we've kept the same...and it's the wholesome, homemade recipes that I fell in love with in the first place.

We Take the Cake Review Gourmet Cupcakes
We Take the Cake offers Bundt Cakes (including their famous Key Lime Bundt Cake!) and cupcakes, layer cakes and cakes for Baby Showers, birthdays, and South Florida Wedding Cakes (if you are fortunate enough to live in that area).  Their gourmet cakes are simply out of this world. I say this in all honesty - that if I were to do my wedding all over again, I have no doubt that I would order my cake from We Take the Cake. I am just dying to try their Key Lime Bundt Cake too - it was chosen as one of Oprah's Favorite Things - Key Lime Bundt Cake!  I am completely swept away with this company, and I am thrilled to have discovered them!

The Giveaway is now CLOSED!!**:
The super nice people at We Take the Cake have so generously offered one of my readers the same assortment of cupcakes that I received!

The person who wins this is very, very lucky!

For first (and required) entry, head over to We Take the Cake and take a look around (you may never want to leave!). Come back and tell me in a comment, another goodie you would like to try (other than those mentioned in post above!)

Fall Festival: Bake Me a Wish Review and Giveaway

CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED!

fallfestival

Today's Fall Festival feature at Snafood:
Cliff's Dinner Recipe
  Cuisinart Review and Giveaway!

Today's featured company on The Speedy Gourmet: Bake Me a Wish!

The name says it all!  These cakes are the things that we all wish for.  I was so thrilled when I found out I was going to be reviewing a Cookies and Cream Cake from Bake Me a Wish.

I waited patiently (okay, not really) for the cake to arrive and it was a happy moment when the UPS truck finally rolled down my court.   I ran inside with my cake and quickly opened it.  What I saw was a chocolate cake with cookie topping and it was calling my name.

A little bit about Bake Me a Wish from their website:
Bake Me a Wish! is the premium nationwide service for delivery of gourmet birthday cakes. Our cakes are made with only the finest, freshest ingredients by an award-winning family run New York bakery that also supplies pastries to some of Manhattan's most elite restaurants.

Through careful cost control and air-tight delivery systems, we are also happy to be able to bring you our fine cakes at an extremely affordable price. Now, whether it's your son in college, your trusted associate, your old friend, or your granddaughter across the country, you will always have a simple and wonderful way to remember them on that important day of the year.

Plus, with our Bake Me a Wish! Calendar, we can keep a record for you of any and all important birthdays so that you never accidentally forget the special people in your life. We will automatically send you a reminder asking if you would like to deliver a cake each time one of your selected dates is approaching.

We believe there is no better way to celebrate that special day of the year than to send a little indulgence from someone who cares.

Bake Me a Wish has cakes for all occasions - Birthday, Thank You, Congratulations, Anniversary, Get Well, and more!  The cakes also come with a greeting card that you can personalize.

One thing I really like at Bake Me a Wish is that they have an "Operation: Birthday Cake", where 5% of your order assists their efforts in sending birthday cakes to soldiers overseas...what a wonderful thing!

I really enjoyed my cake.  The cake I received is not the only flavor available, but I am going to let you take a look for yourself when you enter the giveaway below!

The Giveaway {CLOSED}

One reader will win the same Cookies and Cream Cake that I reviewed above!

Pace Szechuan Peanut Chicken

Pace Szechuan Peanut Chicken

I have had this recipe for a few years now, and it really is simple and delicious.  It is perfect for those nights when you have a hankering for Chinese food, but don't want to go out or order in.  Give it a shot and let me know what you think!

Szechuan Peanut Chicken

From: Campbell's Kitchen
Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 15 minutes
Serves: 4

NOTE:  I add a little bit of granulated sugar when I make this...you might do this to taste if you find it needs sugar.

Ingredients:
1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into strips
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon ground ginger or 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 small clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup Pace® Picante Sauce
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
3 green onions, thickly sliced (about 3/4 cup)
1/2 of a 16-ounce package thin spaghetti, cooked and drained (about 4 cups)
Green onion, thickly sliced
Directions:

Stir the chicken, soy, ginger and garlic in a medium bowl.

Heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken mixture and stir-fry until it's well browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken mixture from the skillet and set it aside.

Stir the picante sauce, peanut butter and onions in the skillet. Return the chicken mixture to the skillet and heat until it's hot and bubbling. Serve over the spaghetti. Sprinkle with additional onions.
