mama's goodies giveaway

Today I want to introduce you to Mama's Goodies.  I have not personally tried their nut brittles, but they look incredible!  I am a huge fan of all brittles, but I have to say that I have never seen most of these flavors before.  They look absolutely decadent - they certainly are not your average peanut brittles!  With ingredients such as honey, 100% pure maple syrup and real butter, how can you go wrong?

mama's goodies nut brittles giveaway

Mama’s Goodies is based upon an old-world recipe for this amazing gourmet treat. Traditional nut brittle has been re-invented and elevated into pieces of culinary art. Mama’s Goodies succulent taste is reminiscent of a fine European confection.

Mama’s Goodies starts with the finest, natural ingredients, including pure honey, 100% maple syrup and real butter, only found in the highest quality bakery and confection products. Then we blend in large chunks of Almonds, Macadamia & Coconut, Cashews, Sesame Seeds and Pecans, to produce a wonderful rewarding dessert or snack that is much better than any toffee or nut brittle made commercially today.

Fall Festival: WE TAKE THE CAKE Review and Giveaway!

{CLOSED}

fallfestival

Today's Fall Festival feature at Snafood:
Brown Bow Gift Co. Review and giveaway and
Curried Butternut Squash & Apple Soup!

Also on The Speedy Gourmet today: Pumpkin Bar Recipe!

Today's featured company is:
We Take the Cake!

We Take the Cake Giveaway

Where do I begin with this review?  There literally are not enough words to tell you how much I enjoyed these cupcakes.  From the moment I opened the box and saw the gorgeous works of art until I finally got up the courage to eat one (I don't mean this in a bad way - they are just so beautiful I hated to dive into them!), I was so impressed.  The detail in each cupcake is amazing. I have to admit that I was a little depressed as I ate the last one.  I looked forward to these each day.

These are not your average cupcakes - these are oversized! The cupcake assortment I received to review contained Chocolate, Red Velvet and Golden Butter.  Need I say more?  Okay well if that isn't enough to make you fall in love,  how about this - each cupcake has cream cheese frosting, and on top of each was a  buttercream frosting in the shape of a flower.  Oh my!

A little about We Take the Cake and it's owner, Lori Karmel (lucky lady!):
Back in 1997, We Take The Cake began as a modest mail-order bakery. This was before I even knew they existed! Well, a few years later, I happened to visit this bakery to buy a cake for my son Sean's third birthday. The rest, as they say, is history...it was definitely love at first bite, and I ended up buying the business!

Since then, I've updated the look and feel of the company to reflect our team's fun, whimsical personality. We've also added custom designs. But there's one thing that we've kept the same...and it's the wholesome, homemade recipes that I fell in love with in the first place.

We Take the Cake Review Gourmet Cupcakes
We Take the Cake offers Bundt Cakes (including their famous Key Lime Bundt Cake!) and cupcakes, layer cakes and cakes for Baby Showers, birthdays, and South Florida Wedding Cakes (if you are fortunate enough to live in that area).  Their gourmet cakes are simply out of this world. I say this in all honesty - that if I were to do my wedding all over again, I have no doubt that I would order my cake from We Take the Cake. I am just dying to try their Key Lime Bundt Cake too - it was chosen as one of Oprah's Favorite Things - Key Lime Bundt Cake!  I am completely swept away with this company, and I am thrilled to have discovered them!

The Giveaway is now CLOSED!!**:
The super nice people at We Take the Cake have so generously offered one of my readers the same assortment of cupcakes that I received!

The person who wins this is very, very lucky!

For first (and required) entry, head over to We Take the Cake and take a look around (you may never want to leave!). Come back and tell me in a comment, another goodie you would like to try (other than those mentioned in post above!)

Somebody's Mother's Chocolate Sauce Review and Giveaway!

I love chocolate...plain and simple. Milk chocolate is my favorite. I was so excited when a nice lady saw me on Twitter, after I raved about Somebody's Mother's Chocolate Sauce, and said to email her to see what we could do. How cool is that? The nice lady is from Somebody's Mother and she sent me a jar of their Chocolate Sauce to review, and another to giveaway!

I was very impressed with how well they were packaged. They were neatly surrounded in bubble wrap, and placed in box with more padding. Of course, all of the neat packaging was thrown to the wind (sorry!) when I discovered what was inside. The jars are adorable (as is the name!), and I had to try them immediately.

The directions said to heat for 3 seconds and that was perfect. After it has been refrigerated, I had to heat just a tad bit longer. I first tried it plain, as I wanted to get the full flavor. Well, I sure got the full flavor alright - I ate a small bowl of the sauce plain. I cannot express enough how delicious this sauce is. It reminds me of when I make fudge, and it is at the gooey stage. YUM.

I did eventually try the sauce as an ice cream topping and as you can imagine, it was superb. I have been eating more ice cream than I have in a long time. I admit that I get a little bit giddy when I think to myself, "Ooooh, I have Somebody's Mother's downstairs!". The sad part is that my jar - the holy grail of chocolate sauces - is gone. I finished it last night and I was just a bit depressed. You will never guess what I did today...I ordered two jars. I have not had my fill of this yummy sauce, and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my two precious jars.

From Somebody's Mother's website:
In April 2005, Somebody’s Mother and her children launched a company in order to produce and sell a really great chocolate sauce (made often over the years at home by Somebody’s Mother’s Mother) which can be eaten warm over ice cream, at room temperature fastened to fruit, or cold straight out of the jar.

The sauce has no preservatives and Somebody’s Mother has no current plans to infuse it with hibiscus or oil it with lavender. It’s just a plain, no-nonsense chocolate sauce that everybody seems to like. Even chocolate haters like it. Somebody’s Mother hopes you, too, will like it and buy it in great quantities so she can keep the children clothed and fed. For a little while longer.

In addition to the yummy chocolate sauce I tried, they also have White Chocolate Sauce and Caramel Sauce. I desperately wanted to order the Caramel Sauce, as I know it has to be delicious too, but I ordered two chocolates instead (LOL). For gift giving, Somebody's Mother's sauces are also available in gift packs. One other thing I love about the sauces is that they contain no high fructose corn syrup, additives, or preservatives. You can purchase these sauces online, you can find them at Somebody's Mother's retail locations.

I give Somebody's Mother's Chocolate Sauce a big, huge thumbs up. This is the best tasting chocolate sauce ever...and I mean ever! If you are a chocolate lover, I promise you will not be disappointed.

**CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED**
