Anybody who knows me, knows I love coffee.  I love it and cannot live without it.  You could say I am a "fiend" I suppose (although coffee lover sounds much nicer).  I love to discover new coffees with rich and bold flavors - it is one of my favorite things.

I recently heard about Kahvé Koffee and wanted to share a little bit about them with you {and also give you the chance to try them for yourself!}.

Our master roaster is personally responsible for all of our coffees. He knows the harvest, the altitude, the growing conditions and most of all the quality of our beans. He studies beans from around the world and chooses only the finest for Kahvé Koffees. After all, it really is all about the beans.

• We pay the highest prices for the best quality which also assures a fair wage for the farmers.
• We hand roast our coffees in small batches in order to encourage the best roast for each coffee. This is essential to an excellent cup.
• We taste our coffees again and again as we roast them, fine-tuning every few moments for the best possible taste in the cup.
• We hand finish our beans by naturally allowing them to cool versus quenching them with water as mass production roasters tend to do. This allows for a richer, purer flavor profile that adding water would dilute. Water not only adds weight to the beans, but and as it evaporates, it dries them out taking the precious natural oils with it. Our hand finishing retains our beans' pure weight as well as the natural oils and flavor. The end result is a naturally moist roast of 100% pure bean weight.
• We taste each batch before we pack and ship to assure there is never a sacrifice in quality.
• We deliver our coffees as soon after the roast as possible when they are still alive with aromatics, fresh and full of their entire flavor. A true masterpiece from bean to brew.

Domino's New Recipe Pizza plus $20 gift card giveaway!

I have always loved Domino's Pizza. I remember as a teen, when I used to buy it by the slice at their store in Albany, CA. It was actually "the" place to be - all of my friends and I were there almost daily, sitting out front, enjoying our pizza. It was new, it was hip, it was exciting! Over the years I have continued to enjoy Domino's Pizza, just the way it is, but now I am so excited to learn that they have a brand new recipe!

Yep - Domino's Pizza has listened to their customers - and made some big changes! The primary changes include:
• Crust – A garlic seasoned crust with parsley baked to a golden brown
• Sauce – Sweeter, bolder tomato sauce with a medley of herbs and a red pepper kick
• Cheese – Shredded cheese made with 100% real mozzarella and flavored with just a hint of provolone

Yum.  I will be trying this new recipe from Domino's just as soon as I can. I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy the thicker crust that is seasoned, the tastier sauce and real cheese.  Great move guys!  My mouth is watering just thinking about this new pizza goodness.

Would you like even more good news? You do not have to wait much longer to try the Domino's new recipe pizza!  Domino’s new pizza will be in all U.S. stores beginning December 27. Count me in!

On a side note, my family has been ordering from Domino's for years - not only because we enjoy their pizza but because of their prices. I am just stunned at how expensive many pizza delivery places are, yet Domino's prices have always remained reasonable. This is especially important to us in these hard economic times.

A Century of Flavor Cookbook Review and Giveaway (5 winners!)

Have I got something special for you! This time of year makes me want to head to the kitchen to dig out my old recipes, and also to try new recipes! I was offered "A Century of Flavor" cookbook from Nielson-Massey Vanillas for review, and I am so thrilled with it. Not only is it gorgeous, but the recipes are absolutely mouth-watering.

It includes sections such as: On the Side, Now This is Dinner!, Fresh Baked, It's Always Better with Vanilla and even the history of Nielsen-Massey.  The color photos in the cookbook are absolutely stunning.  This recipe was absolutely delicious:

CREAMY VANILLA SWEET POTATOES:

4 medium sweet potatoes

~canola oil

2 ounces cream cheese, softened

½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened

¼ cup real maple syrup

1 tablespoon Nielsen-Massey Tahitian Pure Vanilla Extract

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

5 strips bacon, crisp-cooked and crumbled

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Wash the sweet potatoes and lightly coast the skins with canola oil. Pierce each potato several times with a fork. Place the potatoes on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour or until fork tender.

Cut the hot potatoes into halves. Scoop the potato pulp into a mixing bowl, discarding the skins. Beat at medium speed for 1 minute using an electric mixer. Add the cream cheese, butter, syrup, vanilla extract, salt and pepper. Whip until creamy.

Spoon the whipped potatoes into six ramekins coated with nonstick cooking spray and top with the bacon. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheat 375-degree oven for 5 to 8 minutes or until heated through. Alternatively, they may be reheated in a microwave for 2 to 3 minutes.

Serves 6

This would be a perfect dish to go along with your holiday dinners.  If this isn't enough to make you hungry, you might like to try the Crab Cakes with Vanilla Remoulade, the Apricot Mango BBQ Ribs or Marcy's Vanilla Sugar-Crusted Scones.  Mmmmm - I cannot wait to try them all.

Every fall when catalogs start arriving for the holiday season (I love getting catalogs!), I am always the happiest when I see the L.L. Bean catalog.  I get comfy on the couch and start leafing through the pages, dreaming of all the items I would love to have.  L.L. Bean always has a wonderful collection of clothing, bedding, home decor and more - and I start getting excited at the thought of decorating my house, or snuggling up in their warm clothing and pajamas.

Founded in 1912 by Leon Leonwood Bean, the company has grown from a one-man operation to a global organization with annual sales of $1.5 billion. Our company headquarters are in Freeport, Maine, just down the road from our original store.

I was so happy to learn that I would be reviewing the L.L. Bean Primrose Slippers!  I couldn't wait for these to arrive, as I have been wanting a new pair of slippers for a long time.  I chose the Primrose Slipper in Blue Aster.  As I slipped these on my feet, I knew immediately that I would not want to take them off.  Not only are they very attractive, but they are so soft and comfortable. They also have a non-skid surface on the bottom.  I know that I will have a hard time taking them off and putting on regular shoes! I want to wear them forever.  The Primrose Slippers are available in several colors: Foliage, Bright Navy, Cream and Sea Rose.  It was really hard to choose a color - all of them are lovely.

As I mentioned above, L.L. Bean has so much more  than clothing.  While I was browsing around on their website, I found some gorgeous flannel sheets that I would love for my room.  Oh - and this is pretty neat - you can mix and match the bedding.  You can choose from stripes, plaids, solids, etc., and pick them in the colors you want.  I love this idea!

Definitely keep L.L. Bean in mind for birthday and holiday gifts, they really do have something for everyone on your list!

I love getting new cookbooks - there is something about a brand new book that makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over.  In the fall, I am always inspired to try new things, but I run out of ideas easily it seems.

Fall Festival - Pepperidge Farms Crackers Review and Giveaway

I have enjoyed Pepperidge Farm products since I was a little kid.  Who doesn't enjoy goldfish...seriously?  They have come a long way since then, and they recently added some wonderful products to their line.

Lucky me - I got to sample these items for this review!  I sampled the Baked Naturals Cheese Crisps in both flavors: Four Cheese and Four Cheese Italian Herb.  I have found my new snack crackers!  The flavors are rich, yet not overwhelming.  They are baked!  I love that fact.  I found myself dipping these in everything, and putting all sorts of toppings on them (though they are so delicious on their own!).  I also sampled the Garden Flavor "flavor blasted" goldfish - oh yum!  (My daughter and I were kind of playing a tug-o-war game with them...neither of us wanted to let go!).
