I love cupcakes - plain and simple.  My family is fortunate that none of us has food allergies, but I am aware of how many people (over 12 million in the U.S.) have severe food allergies. As many as 1 in every 200 Americans have a peanut or tree nut allergy, according to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.  Severe allergic reactions can develop quickly and without warning.  Also, more than 90% of food allergic reactions are caused by just 8 ingredients - peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg, soy, shellfish, wheat and fish.

Thank goodness those people who are allergic have a tasty choice now - Divvies.  I can only imagine how frustrating it would be (especially for kids), to watch others eating goodies, but not to be able to partake.

I was sent several items from Divvies (thank you!), and I am amazed at how tasty they all are...yes - each and every one of them.  We received a box of chocolate cupcakes in a "fun" box.  It contained a separate container of frosting and another tube of sprinkles.  My daughter had a blast making these cupcakes, and she really enjoyed them (she had no idea they were "different" from other sweets).   In addition to the cupcakes, we also received Bingo Chocolate Bars, two types of popcorn - kettle corn and caramel corn (these were so good!) and chewy candies.  They have such a nice assortment of products - so really, nobody will feel left out.

I was thinking how perfect Divvies would be for classroom parties.  If your child has food allergies, now there is no reason he or she cannot have a blast with these items.  I know all of the kids would enjoy frosting and "sprinkling" their own cupcakes.  Divvies carries a wonderful assortment of snacks for people with food allergies.
